SNA Presentation in Melbourne (IAPA event)

The Institute of Analytics Professionals of Australia (IAPA) requested I give a generic presentation next week on social network analysis and how it can be used for activities such as customer insights, marketing (acquisition, retention, up-sell), fraud detection etc.

See their current newsletter;
http://alerts.iapa.org.au/

or website;
http://www.iapa.org.au/

I'll make the presentation as vendor neutral and informative as possible (but obviously I can't discuss details of any previous confidential work by myself or SAS).

If you are in Melbourne on Wednesday 23rd June, then feel free to book and attend the presentation.  As with all IAPA events it is free and a great opportunity to 'social network' :) with others interested in analysis and data mining.

I hope to see you there!

Hi ,

are there any upcoming data mining conferences in Sydney?

I am a student at UTS studying the data analytics major and I find it incredibly interesting.

Moreover, it would be nice talking to "real" data miners:D

Hello 'Steelnerves',

Two that I know of.

a) I try to go to the Sydney Data Miners Meetup when I can (limited free time though);
http://www.meetup.com/datarati/

b) or IAPA have good presentations sometimes;

I'm around in the CBA often. This Thursday and Friday I'm working on a client project onsite (23rd and 24th Sept), so I'll have some time after 6pm to have a beer and chat. The Belgian beer cafe on Harrington street in the rocks is a favourite. Pop me a work message at tim dot manns at sas dot com if you're interested.

Cheers

Tim
